NVQs

A Plant Operations NVQ is a competency-based qualification used to show an operative competence on a certain machine. Each NVQ is aimed at learners who work in with different types of Plant in the construction industry.

How long does it take to complete the NVQ?
Completion time is dependant on how quickly the learner can gather the relevant evidence to complete the course.

Who should enrol on to the Plant Operations NVQ?
Construction Operatives who are looking to obtain their Blue Competent Operative Card or Blue CPCS Card.

Is the course accredited?
ProQual or Pearson Edexcel are the two accreditations available for this course.

Delivery Options

We offer a range of NVQs in Plant Operations available to complete nationwide. Companies and individuals can easily book an NVQ over the phone or online through our website.

Once the enrolment process is complete, the learner will be paired with an assessor who will conduct the initial induction. The assessor will work with the learner to develop their portfolio and map out how each unit can be completed.

Throughout the NVQ, the assessor will continuously review the learner and make sure that they are on track to completion.

Entry Requirements

An NVQ is a competency-based qualification. The NVQ is used to ensure that the learner is competent in their current role. Learners must be 16 or over and be in full-time employment as a Plant Operator.

Course Content

What does the NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations course cover?
The assessor will appraise the learner through a variety of ways on-site, such as written questions, professional discussions, evidence generated from the workplace, observations and witness testimonials. The qualification course structure incorporates a selection of mandatory units.

On achievement of the qualification, the learner will be able to show that they are knowledgable and competent in their field.

What is Required to Pass the NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations course?
Delegates will need to complete all the required units of the NVQ by providing sufficient evidence for each one. Once this has been completed the assessor will review their portfolio and follow up with any required feedback. Once the learner has acknowledged the feedback, the IQA will receive the portfolio. The IQA will have the final decision on whether the qualification is complete or if any additional evidence is needed.

Further Development

Upon completion of the qualification, delegates will be ready to apply for the Blue Competent Operator Card to confirm that they have the relevant qualifications to be able to work as a Plant Operator.

They may also need to complete an NPORS Accredited Course to obtain the Red Trained Operator Card. NPORS offers a range of courses.
